I'm blue in the face over conservatism

I am a conservative. I believe in paying the minimal amount to government to make it run and keep us somewhat safe and do what needs to be done while letting everyone take care of themselves and help their fellow man. And you sirs are no conservatives. Unfortunately the republican party hasn't been conservative in basically my lifetime. So therefor there's no reason to vote that way anymore, but yet the republican party still likes to think that they're the GOP. Srsly? They're freaking idiots and liars to keep spouting this crap. Do you make less than 250k a year? Then vote for Obama because your taxes will be less. Do you believe that starting a war to make your dad's friends happy and rich is the smart thing to do and that it's a good excuse to effectively revoke all civil liberties? Then don't vote for Obama. It's PDS.

    Does Sarah mean a state:

    * That snatches its victims off the street, denies them all form of legal process and whisks them away to secret “blacksites” where they can be tortured using all the techniques described in Arthur Koestler’s Darkness at Noon?

    * That arrests and prosecutes its political adversaries for imaginary crimes so as to eliminate them from the running in election cycles in which they could do some damage?

    * That destroys the careers of professional military men because they got promotions under a prior regime and therefore considers them disloyal?

    * That believes it can detain and hold its enemies forever without any charges or any evidence against them, denying them access to courts to prove their innocence?

    ...

Sarah, you have no need to fear the future.

It was a perfect day out at Maker Faire 2008 on Saturday. A good amount of people without being crazy and it was great to see all of the returning and new makers out there showing off their work. Back tomorrow to catch all of the stuff that we missed and see some of the awesome stuff a second time. Check out the photos and we hope to see you out there tomorrow!

    How to Make Rootbeer

Chef Pardus shows us How to Make Rootbeer.

Awesome idea! I've brewed my own beer but never thought to make root beer. After having St. Arnold's amazing root beer lately I've been inspired to think about trying this. Got a great recommendation for the following extract, but I'm going to check the Austin Homebrew Supply first.

    StressPrinters 1.3.1 for Terminal Server

Many driver problems in the Terminal Services environment revolve around poor multi-threaded performance, which in turn can cause Print Spooler instability. Problematic multi-threaded performance is usually exposed when multiple users connect to a Terminal Server simultaneously using the same print driver. Symptoms include the failure to autocreate client printers, increased thread count of the Printer Spooler and/or Citrix Print Manager services, and possibly the unresponsiveness and/or unexpected termination of these services (crashes).

This tool can be used to simulate multiple sessions autocreating printers using the same print driver.

    KXAN/TW Dispute Commentary

I read this commentary entitled I want my NBC today by a KXAN employee. Much like politics I am a bit perturbed by this discussion as in the end the only person getting hurt is the consumer, as always. I could not help but comment,

"While I understand both sides there is the very key element that TW provides the infrastructure to bring cable to your house. In the OTA model the station makes their money off of advertising revenue and that should be the same in the cable model except that money to TW should pay for infrastructure. If I get the product over the air it's free, so what is different with me getting it via cable? The fact that I have 100% access to the station no matter what, so I always get it. The cost involved in getting the cable to my house and providing that infrastructure is huge. I in no way have a dog in this fight other than being annoyed that I don't have the channel. Although I do work in network engineering so have an intimate knowledge of the costs involved in this sort of model. By these corporate entities continuing to not minimize their cost and simply raising their revenue they are simply hurting the consumer who does not have any more money to spend. I am considering dropping my cable anyway, why would I be happier with prices increasing?  KXAN and TW, how about I buy all of my TV from the internet or better yet get it for free?! That way you both lose out on all of my money."

I am just pointing out that these models are old and flawed. Get over it. Find new ways to make money or die out. Don't continue to raise prices and expect consumers to pay MORE money for the same old product. I don't need 10K channels, no one does. Just sell me a decent product for a decent price and figure out how to minimize your cost so that you can make money.

Just name a damn paper for godsake!!! Geez.

this chick is straight up stupid. How could they have ever chosen her. SRSLY!
